Concert: Schmusechor: Don't act like you don't know us!

The Schmusechor – the most exciting choir since the invention of polyphony – offers a sparkling blend of pop music, performance art, haute couture, and passion. Under the direction of conductor Verena Giesinger, the heartbeat of the choir, the approximately 50-member troupe presents emotional ballads by Aretha Franklin, danceable Backstreet Boys hits like "I Want It That Way," and contemporary pop à la Billie Eilish. Gender boundaries blur, and a clear stance against sexism and racism is a given. Founded around nine years ago in a Viennese shared apartment bedroom, the choir has become an integral part of the Austrian music scene. Collaborations lead to other worlds such as theater, visual arts, dance, literature, and film.
